Many of the show's characters are surprisingly complex and can even touch on some hard-hitting topics, which is outstanding when taking their ages into consideration. In fact, there have been numerous queer characters in the show, including teenagers and adults, arguably making Ladybug one of the most progressive cartoons out there.

All the main Ladybug characters have their moments. Despite the title, the series doesn't focus exclusively on the protagonist and her feline sidekick. From Marinette and Alya to Chloe and Nino, every main character gets their moment to shine. Marinette Dupain-Cheng Is The Ever-Optimistic Protagonist

Marinette Dupain-Cheng is Miraculous Ladybug's ever-optimistic protagonist. She always pushes ahead despite her social anxiety while in her civilian form. Marinette is bright, creative, and intelligent, and able to devise incredibly innovative ways to save the day while acting as Ladybug. On a personal level, Marinette wants nothing more than her own personal fashion brand.

Even so, Marinette is a teenager and sometimes does not make the best decisions. When first begins, Marinette is a 13-year-old girl. Sometime during Season 2 of the series, she turns 14, which is also how old she remains in Season 5. Fans are excited to see what adventures await the titular character. As of now, she leads the French Miraculous team of superheroes.

Tikki Has Been Around Since The Dawn Of The Universe Itself

Tikki looks like an adorable little companion, and it's easy to assume at first glance that she has to be a teenager like Marinette and the other human characters. However, Tikki is over 13 billion years old. According to Tikki's history, she's lived since the dawn of the universe itself, which means she's clearly some kind of cosmic entity with potentially limitless powers.

Her kwami siblings were made not long after, and they spent a long time traveling the universe before eventually stumbling upon Earth. For over 5,000 years, Tikki helped people transform into superheroes to help save the world, but she didn't find the first true Ladybug Miraculous holder until much later. Tikki's age is so vast that the exact number is not really going to make a difference depending on the show's season.

Adrien Agreste Is Miraculous Ladybug's Right-Hand Cat

Adrien Agreste is Miraculous Ladybug's right-hand cat, and he always helps her out as often as required from a partner. He revels in the freedom allowed by his secretive Cat Noir persona, as he grew up in a sheltered and very strict environment. Adrien struggles under the weight of meeting his father's lofty expectations, especially since he works as a model for the Gabriel brand. Interestingly, he's actually a hybrid between a sentimonster and a human, which is only revealed much later.

Fans have always wanted to know how old Cat Noir is, although it's patently obvious that he's similar in age to Marinette. In Adrien's origin story, which is timed just before the start of , he is 13. From Season 1 to Season 5, he stays 14 years old. More importantly, Adrien and Marinette have been in a romantic relationship since Season 4.

Plagg Has Been Responsible For Numerous Global Apocalypses

66 million years old

Despite being an overpowered kwami like Tikki, Plagg wasn't brought into existence until much later. He came into existence when the idea of catastrophic devastation first came into being on Earth: 66 million years ago. This was also when an asteroid slammed into Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, ushering in a global apocalypse that led to the dinosaur's extinction.

Before Plagg got an owner, however, he was responsible for numerous apocalypses in the Ladybug universe. These include the sinking of Atlantis as well as several other mass destruction events. He doesn't mean to do any damage, though — kwamis are simply unable to control their powers if they don't have an owner to keep them in check. Plagg is also linked to the Cat Miraculous, making him one of Adrien's closest allies.

Gabriel Agreste Was The Show's Overarching Villain Until Season 5

Despite being Adrien's father, Gabriel Agreste was the show's overarching villain named Hawk Moth. Some Ladybug fans think it's odd that even the kwami who have existed for millions of years at the very least have canonical ages. And yet, Gabriel's age is never clearly stated. However, it is possible to infer his age based on the events in Miraculous Ladybug leading up to his death in Season 5.

When Chloé's mother meets Gabriel, he is a brilliant young prodigy just out of college — this is also around the time he meets his wife. Given this timeline, Gabriel would've had Adrien when he was around 21, so now he would be about 35-40 years old. Then again, he looks much older in episodes where his hair is silvery-gray rather than light blond, so fans can't be properly sure of Gabriel's actual age.

Alya Césaire Is Known As The Sneaky Fox And The Master Of Illusion

Also known as the Sneaky Fox and the Master of Illusion, Alya comes off as being slightly more mature than both Marinette and Adrien, even if she can get a bit too obdurate on occasion. Alya demonstrates her maturity with how she handles Marinette's young cousin, how well she navigates her relationship with Nino, and how Alya tries to give Marinette sensible advice regarding her crush on Adrien.

Alya is 15 years old as of Season 5, making her a year older than Adrien and Marinette despite being their classmate. The school has never held her back a year, so perhaps she started school a year later than her peers, or she's already had another birthday. Given her enthusiastic and humorous nature, it's not surprising that Alya is one of the most popular characters in Miraculous Ladybug.

Nino Lahiffe Is One Of The Nicest Characters In The Series

Nino Lahiffe begins Miraculous Ladybug at the age of 13, but he's currently 15 years old as of Season 5. He's easily one of the nicest and most amicable characters in the series, quickly empathizing with the people he cares about, such as Adrien Agreste. A firm believer in justice, Nino can't stand the idea of imbalance in any sense of the word, even when the situation isn't that serious. As a result of his compassionate nature, Nino tends to be rather trustworthy and courageous.

Nino has also saved or helped save his friends on numerous occasions. This is largely because he is a team player, regularly demonstrating his leadership skills. The wielder of the Turtle Miraculous, Nino has achieved multiple forms: Carapace, Shell Shock, Bubbler, Oblivio, and Rocketear. On the other hand, his personality seems to change drastically depending on his alter ego.

Luka & Juleka Couffaine Are Radically Different From Each Other

15 years old in Seasons 1-3; 16 years old currently

The twins Luka and Juleka Couffaine are both major players in Miraculous Ladybug, although the brother is technically introduced a whole season later than the sister. Luka is a peace-loving and private individual, although his kittenish side occasionally peeks out. Much like Nino, Luka can easily identify another person's feelings. His relationship with Juleka is one of the highlights of the show.

For her part, Juleka is considerably more shy and apprehensive than her relatively outgoing brother. As such, she initially believes that she's invisible to pretty much everyone else. However, Juleka soon realizes that she has dear friends whom she desperately wants to protect. When she becomes Purple Tigress, there are very few opponents who can stand in her way. Both Juleka and Luka grew from 15 to 16 years old over the course of the series.

Kagami Tsurugi Fights With A Level Of Ferocity Befitting A Dragon

The Dragon Miraculous is naturally powerful, but it is the wielder's inner strength that matters more. Kagami Tsurugi is a fencing master, developing a small but fascinating rivalry with Adrien. As she refuses to back down from a fight, Kagami often takes more risks than are necessary. She even makes conclusions based on very little evidence, but her zealously ambitious nature ensures that she always finds a way to win a real fight.

Characters who bluntly speak their mind might find themselves without friends, but Kagami's core group will never let her go — despite her inability to express her emotions properly. Kagami has been 15 years old since Season 4, around the same age as most of her peers. That being said, her performance as Ryuko has been nothing less than spellbinding.

Félix Fathom Is Now More Of An Antihero Than A Villain

Félix sheds his villainous past and becomes more of an antihero, making him one of the more complex characters in Miraculous Ladybug. As Adrien Agreste's cousin, it appears that even Félix is a human-sentimonster hybrid. The only difference is that Adrien was created from his mother's love, while Félix was formed from his father's jealousy. However, this difference is made more visible through the scope of their respective character arcs.

Félix is a rather troublesome boy — his cousin even remarks that he doesn't "have a lot of friends" because he misbehaves constantly. On a positive note, Félix is a brilliant magician, martial artist, and basketball player, talents that all come in handy when takes the form of Argos. The 15-year-old mischief-maker is currently a member of the French Miraculous superhero team, proving that there's still a glint of light at the end of Félix's tunnel.

Chloé Bourgeois Is An Antagonist Before Her Sympathetic Redemption Arc

15 years old

Chloé Bourgeois is a bit of a complex character due to how poorly Miraculous Ladybug handles her development. She starts as an antagonist who does her best to get under Marinette's skin. To put it mildly, she is extremely demanding, arrogant, and condescending, making her one of the least liked characters in the series. Although Chloé does have a sympathetic "redemption" arc at one point, the series forgets about it not long after.

As such, she transforms into an antihero before returning to her villainous roots for Seasons 4 and 5. Like Alya, Chloé is currently 15 years old as of Season 5 of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, but she began the show as a 13-year-old teen. Even though Chloé is older than Marinette and Adrien, she acts far less mature than either character.

Nathalie Sancoeur Works For Gabriel And Helps Raise Adrien

Similar to Gabriel Agreste, Nathalie doesn't have an official age anywhere within the Miraculous Ladybug canon. Nathalie works for Gabriel as his assistant and contributes to raising Adrien, Gabriel's son. While she generally comes off as aloof and apathetic, Nathalie has an emotional relationship with her boss that verges on problematic. In fact, she's actually quite careful with her feelings except when it comes to Gabriel, her only emotional weakness.

Given how much of a central role she plays within the series, it makes sense that Ladybug fans would want to know how old she is. What is known is that Nathalie is supposed to be several years younger than Gabriel. Assuming that Gabriel is around 35-40 years old, it makes sense that Nathalie would be in her late twenties or early thirties.
