Well, there's a little boy waiting at the counter of the corner shop
He's been waiting down there, waiting half the day
They never ever see him from the top
He gets pushed around, knocked to the ground
He gets to his feet and he says
What about me?
It isn't fair
I've had enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, I wanna live
But you just take more than you give
Well, there's a pretty girl serving at the counter of the corner shop
She's been waiting back there, waiting for a dream
Her dreams walk in and out, they never stop
Well she's not too proud, to cry out loud
She runs to the street and she screams
What about me?
It isn't fair
I've had enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, I wanna live
But you just take more than you give
More than you give
Take a step back and see the little people
They might be young but they're the ones
that make the big people big
So listen as they whisper
"What about me?"
And now I'm standing on the corner
All the world's gone home
Nobody's changed, nobody's been saved
And I'm feeling cold and alone
I guess I'm lucky, I smile a lot
But sometimes I wish for more than I've got
What about me?
It isn't fair
I've had enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, I wanna live
But you just take more than you give
It isn't fair
I've had enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, I wanna live
But you just take more
you just take more
you just take more than you give
What about me?
What about me?
What about me?

This is an awesome song. I sand it on a National TV show in americ called "STAR SEARCH". It was kind of like the fore-runner to American Idol. Everyone loved the song too. I still play this song out acoustically when I play. wish they would have done some other albums because it would be interesting to see some of their work and how it progressed.
they could write killer melodies and great lyrics.

in america they're a one hit wonder.i hear what about me on the radio all the time, none of their other stuff from the Day's of Innocence album (which i have) and even though What about Me is my favorite song from the album, there are a bunch of others that are great.
what i meant by they didnt make it, was that they didnt make it in america, which is where i live....

I think they were pretty much one hit wonders here, too. Sad, 'cause this is an incredible song.

This song was made to be screamed at the top of your lungs after consuming significant amounts of alcohol.

this song i absolutely beautiful. it makes me wanna' just simply cry out. i treminds me of middle and high school where only certain people are loved and only a few kids have what they deserve and the best people get shoved into the background. it makes me wanna grab the PA mike an sing loudly out to the whole school and basically make them think, "what about me" the quiet kid in the shadows, don't i deserve to live my life?

This is undoubtedly my absolute favorite song, but this sight didn't get the lyrics correct. The lyrics go; "take a step and see the little people they might be young, but they're the ones that make the big people big" that is very disappointing

Corpse I Fell In Love With Gadjits, The He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could. The Spy Doors, The Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there? Light Up The Sky Van Halen The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it. Bron-Y-Aur Stomp Led Zeppelin This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping. Holiday Bee Gees @[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.Rate These Lyrics
