Taylor Swift has been branded a 'greedy capitalist' by Charli XCX fans, who are livid with the Bad Blood billionaire after the success of her latest album.

The 34-year-old Americana star has set a new personal record in the UK albums chart as she continues her mammoth Eras Tour across the country, with multiple versions of her latest album released over recent weeks.

Earlier this week, ahead of Taylor's first show in England, the Taylor Nation Twitter (X) account announced: "#TSTheErasTour in the UK means #TSTTPD Standard Digital Albums + Bonus Tracks (Live from Paris) and First Draft Phone Memos are available on the UK Store until 11:59pm BST! UK only."

The Tortured Poets Department has netted a sixth non-consecutive week at the top, according to the Official Charts Company, which has surpassed Tay-Tay's previous best after Midnights spent five non-consecutive weeks at number one across 2022 and 2023.

However, Charli XCX fans are fuming that Taylor has beaten the Boom Clap star to the top spot after her album, Brat, debuted at number two in the charts this week, thanks to Taylor releasing a 'new' version of her album earlier this week.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans criticised Taylor for being "obsessed with money/chart positions", accusing the singer of strategically releasing 'mass versions' of her album. One said: "Charli deserved the Number 1 spot. Brat is universally acclaimed. Charli is at the peak of her creativity & finally getting the flowers she’s long overdue. Taylor’s obsession with money/chart positions & her pattern of undercutting other women in the industry is embarrassing."

Another vented: "Taylor swift is greedy and the farthest thing from a feminist, at least Charli has talent." A third mused: "There is of course an irony that an album full of meditations on the push-pull relationship of the artist and their art to success was beaten to the #1 spot by an artist peddling the 304th edition of their album for another week atop the charts with no self-awareness."

Meanwhile, a fourth seemed quite upset with the Americana star as they said: "This is the second time that woman tried to block other female artists in a month… it was fine if it's organic, but, no, she was purposely mass-releasing different versions to do it just nasty."

Elsewhere, a fifth fumed: "Taylor Swift won the Charli XCX UK chart battle, got number one again after releasing 7 billion versions of The Tortured Poets Department including more last night. BRAT is better in every possible way and is the 16th best reviewed album of all time mind you."

The Pennsylvania-born singer released her chart-topping 11th studio album, which included collaborations with rapper Post Malone and British rock band Florence + The Machine, on April 19. Alongside 12 number one albums, Taylor has four singles that have topped the UK charts – with Look What You Made Me Do, Anti-Hero, Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version), and Fortnight featuring Post Malone.

The star's Eras Tour started on March 17 2023 in Arizona and isn't expected to end until December this year in Vancouver, Canada. Taylor is currently in the UK for another leg of the sold-out shows and fans can't get enough. The singer, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs star, Travis Kelce, has been busy releasing back-to-back music and presented fans with The Tortured Poets Department in April this year. In 2023.

Taylor's net worth was at a whopping $740million (£584m) and it didn't take long before that skyrocketed to $1.3 billion (£1bn) thanks to the first leg of her tour. It has been estimated that the latest leg of her tour could make the singer an unfathomable $5.7 billion (£4.4 billion) by the time it ends later this year, making Taylor one of the richest musicians of all time alongside the likes of Rihanna, Paul McCartney and Jay-Z.

The Mirror has contacted Taylor's rep for comment on this story.
