CCBOE recognizes Cold Springs High School track teams - The Cullman Tribune (2024)

CULLMAN, Ala. – At its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, June 13, the Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE) recognized the Cold Springs Eagles indoor and outdoor track teams for winning State Championships this year.

“This is probably the most decorated group of young people we’ve had in our school system, just to be honest with you,” said Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette.

The Eagles Boys’ indoor track team was recognized by the board and received their state championship rings during the meeting. They outpaced Reeltown 98-46 to claim the 1A-3A title in January.

In its second-straight State Championship win in May, the outdoor team beat Reeltown by 34 points. Tribune Sports Editor Nick Griffin reported that Eagles runner Ethan Edgeworth racked up four gold medals (1600-Meter, 3200-Meter, 800-Meter, 4×800 Meter Relay) and Eagles jumper Nic Fallin earned two more (Pole Vault, Long Jump) to help lead Cold Springs to the title.
